What To Expect At Your Appointment During COVID-19

We have resumed our regular business hours on June 1, 2020.  As ready ourselves to return to work, we wanted to share what to expect at our office during the soft opening. We want to make sure everyone is familiar with the new protocol in place in our office to keep everyone healthy and safe.

We ask everyone to kindly fill out your medical history form by signing into our online patient portal (link can also be found in the appointment reminder email) prior to your eye appointment, as it will save your time at the in-office visit.

  • A day before your appointment,  you will receive an email appointment reminder which includes a link for COVID Screening Assessment.  Please fill it out prior to your appointment time.
  • When you arrive at the office we ask that you wait in your car or in the patio area and text us at 778-807-9139 to tell us you have arrived.
  • You will receive instruction as to when you can come in.
  • Once in the office you will be greeted by our staff and asked to sanitize your hands and wear a mask (if you don’t already have one), and your temperature will be taken.
  • Once you are done sanitizing your hands our staff will have you sign a consent form then seat you at the appropriate chair to start the pre-test. When you are done with the pretest, our staff will escort you to the designated waiting area to wait for our doctor.
  • Dr. Chen will complete your appointment, If you are waiting for dilation, you will be asked to wait in the dispensing area. If you would like to try on frames, our staff will assist you with that. We ask you to kindly place all the frames you tried on in a designated tray so we can sanitize them after. Once you completed your appointment, your next appointment will be scheduled by our staff.

If you would like to place an order for glasses at your appointment, our staff will adjust the frame at the time of order.  If you are interested in checking out glasses but don’t have an appointment with us, please call/email us to book an optical appointment with us as we do not take walk-ins temporarily.

If you wish to make purchase of any other products such as contact lenses or eye drops ect. but don’t have an appointment with us, you may place an order over the phone or on our Eyecare eShop website at www.shopeyecare.com. We will email you when your orders are ready for pickup. We offer free shipping for purchase of dry eye products over $99 on our eShop. Free direct shipping for contact lenses for orders over one box which ends June 30, 2021.

We are implementing curbside pickup for all orders. No appointment is needed for order pickup. Please call or text us when you arrive, we can bring the item to the door for you.

If a parent needs to accompany their child into the clinic they will undergo the same screening process, have their temperature taken and be asked to wear a mask as well.

We are limiting the number of people in the office by implementing a virtual reception and by limiting the amount of people in the clinic.

We will all look a little different as we will be wearing our own PPE but rest assured we are all the same TEAM and we cannot wait to see all of you!
